Here in the NY Times all the right questions posed, some of them fetchingly as if from an exraterrestrial visitor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1168997023495806212007-01-16T20:23:00.000-05:002007-01-16T20:23:00.000-05:00I figure the New York Times is welcome to come and...I figure the New York Times is welcome to come and read the blog anytime they like. I don't think they'd accept a piece by "ClinkShrink".

I'm sorry you and your cell phone are having irreconcilable differences; have you tried mediation or counselling? I hear talking can help. Oh what, you'd have to be able to use the phone to do that.

The ibuprofen wore off an hour ago; don't want to be premature but so far no chills or temp spike. It is rather disconcerting to be able to hear one's own rales without a stethoscope.ClinkShrinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13316134491751195651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1168996381964025942007-01-16T20:13:00.000-05:002007-01-16T20:13:00.000-05:00so you have to send this to Harcourt and the OpEd ...so you have to send this to Harcourt and the OpEd editor of the NYTimes--I think it's David Shipley.

the highlights of my day:
I got a check today from BlueCross for $0.01
I plugged a new space heater into my office and tripped a circuit, 3 hours later and maintenance still couldn't FIND the circuit board to flip it back.
I bought a new DVD yesterday because mine reliably zorks at 28 minutes into a disk. My car needs service tomorrow for a problem it's been having since it's last service check up, and I'm taking the new cell phone back.

Thanks for listening.
How's the pneumonia?Dinahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09227988351623862689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1168984215301167312007-01-16T16:50:00.000-05:002007-01-16T16:50:00.000-05:00BRAVO! Your post kept up with what my next troubling thought was about what you showed about what he was saying; you addressed the problems as they occurred in a sensible order that fit the path of my moving from point to point that he and you were making, and that you were explaining, comparing, contrasting, and pointing out the flaws and such in his conclusions, thought processes, and ideas.

If that's not a run-on sentence, I don't know what is, hee!

Great post. Very much needed to counteract this sort of thing.

Sara

P.S. I hope you are feeling a bit better, although if it is at all similar to the flu going around here, it's incremental and slow (or so it seems, when coming out of the misery) to recover.Sarebearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09208596053319110470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1168974047194374562007-01-16T14:00:00.000-05:002007-01-16T14:00:00.000-05:00Funny how so many things work that way, no? The dietician and I had quite a talk about how domperidone got to be pulled off the market in the US and also about the more recent article and tv news segment about how proton-pump inhibitors are linked to hip replacements. But if you look at the population they studied in the latter, the people are all in higher risk categories for osteoporosis and needing hip replacements as it is. Correlation does not equal causation.

The media likes to stir things up - and sometimes people write things to get a big response or rise out of those reading it - even a professor who probably isn't a routine news article writer might say and write things to get a rise out of folks if that's his particular cause.

But the implications - they never think about that, do they? When my mom called me about the PPI thing with the hip replacements...I said to her, but if I come off my PPI, then I might get esophageal cancer.... I'd rather risk the hip replacement frankly!

Hmmmmm.... good post, as usual! Are you feeling any better?

Take care,
Carrie :)NeoNurseChichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16120931307124798416noreply@blogger.com
