He was convicted by the masses before his plane ever set down on U.S. soil! Save your thoughts for a future post if you want, but I'll be waiting, tapping my foot impatiently.Fat Doctorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09672076019531106668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1157026958361251812006-08-31T08:22:00.000-04:002006-08-31T08:22:00.000-04:00Thanks everybody. I guess that didn't happen because y'all understood the post was about the media coverage, not the actions of the police.

This morning I found myself wondering why the person who bailed this lady out didn't stay to pick her up. That seemed rather odd. I think there's just more to this story that we haven't heard.ClinkShrinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13316134491751195651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1157022639770324842006-08-31T07:10:00.000-04:002006-08-31T07:10:00.000-04:00Great post (again).Great post (again).Shiny Happy Personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03588270420031446093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1157001781099995862006-08-31T01:23:00.000-04:002006-08-31T01:23:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.NeoNurseChichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16120931307124798416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-1156996179932392552006-08-30T23:49:00.000-04:002006-08-30T23:49:00.000-04:00Good post. I seem to only notice the stories that show the mentally ill in bad light (maybe some individuals, rightfully so, but the stories are kind of slanted that possibly others with that dx might be just as bad . . .), and that's possibly because of, well, I AM one of "those" people, as I used to think of it, ironically.

I do think more training is a good thing, and I've read about some kind of a program that NAMI coordinates (I have some probs w/drug companies funding NAMI and them not being neutral advocates for the mentally ill, like they claim, as a result, but NAMI still does some good work . . .) that coordinates training law enforcement, the front-line mental health providers, and everyone else likely to be involved in potential situations, as to the different perspectives each of these professions brings to the situation, so the other can understand better, and how to better work together for the best outcomes, and stuff.

I know I read about that somewhere . . . if only the MEDIA received some training . . . lol!Sarebearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09208596053319110470noreply@blogger.com
