We've been friends since. She was a big support to me during residency, I think there were periods of time (pre-internet) when I'd call her Every night. I met Roy when we worked at the same public clinic-- we stayed vaguely in touch, as in meeting for lunch every few years and I'd end it with "This is fun, we should do it Every Year"--then we ended up on a committee or two together, and email has made it easier. Clink and Roy met when they both had this mutual friend who got this idea out of nowhere one day that she wanted a Blog, but she didn't know what a Blog was or how to do it, and she asked them both for help... after a couple weeks of this, Roy announced we needed a Real Life meeting and Clink and Roy met.

How do shrinks meet other shrinks? sort of like squirrels congregating aroung the same tree.Dinahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09227988351623862689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-53975196469277233082007-04-03T19:32:00.000-04:002007-04-03T19:32:00.000-04:00Here's a brain on a column(AF)http://www.mspong.or...Here's a brain on a column

(AF)

http://www.mspong.org/cyclopedia/images/brain.jpgAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-90558683964464382742007-04-03T19:26:00.000-04:002007-04-03T19:26:00.000-04:00FYI, you can search your entire blog, including co...FYI, you can search your entire blog, including comments, by adding this [without quotes] to a search string in Google "site:psychiatrist-blog.blogspot.com/"

And is it April Fools that the image links to a previous podcast?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-35410189482703476312007-04-03T18:22:00.000-04:002007-04-03T18:22:00.000-04:00Oooo Rach, great question!I was wondering, too, ho...Oooo Rach, great question!

I was wondering, too, how you guys deal with acquaintances or relatives/distant relatives asking psych advice and stuff. Here's a question I was wondering about as I was washing the dishes and listening to you:

How did you meet each other? Was it back in med school, or did you just happen to collide into one another? How do shrinks meet other shrinks? And would you say that you have more friends who are in the medical/helping professions than the rest of them? I think it's www.statcounter.com), it will prospectively keep track of how people reach your blog. You can look at maps to see what part of the world your readership comes from, you can look to see what people searched to get to your blog, and you can figure out who's blog is linked to yours.

Hope that helps!Midwife with a Knifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04309579302399381913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-32087766891446593342007-04-03T14:04:00.000-04:002007-04-03T14:04:00.000-04:00OK. Roy....I am sooooo close to admitting total defeat.

I have a stupid question that I would like to ask you about how you find what strange search terms people have used to get to you (as you did in Jan this year)?

Google's help facility has completely beaten me. Which for someone who spent 20 odd years being a techno-geek is bad enough. Best I can figure it, is unless you actually know the answer, Google won't confirm it for you. There IS no category for 'i don't know'!!

But now, to add to my total and abject humiliation, I have gone round in circles for 30 mins trying to work out how to email you.

Help....!!jcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03736961961261409218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-19544368978430821772007-04-03T06:05:00.000-04:002007-04-03T06:05:00.000-04:00Darn. You might find something you like.

Also, I think that Roy's also the nerdy one (come on, did you see his you tube links? Especially the Darth Vader one? Although I'm sorry I never thought to do the Chinese restaurant thing myself.); but you're all loveable, goofy, and at least mildly interesting.

Liked the podcast, and the 35 minute length is probably just right. I always end up listening to them when I'm awake in the wee hours of the morning, and 35 minutes is the right amount of time for me to listen, and then to be able to sleep and go back to bed. Um... the above paragraph is meant as a compliment. It's not that the podcast has any properties that make me sleepy. It's just that it nicely fills that time between waking and going back to sleep during the 3am-5am time that I wake up a lot of mornings. OK, I'm going to shut up and go to bed now. Summary: Nice podcast, guys. :)Midwife with a Knifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04309579302399381913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26666124.post-38953296743582770072007-04-03T05:45:00.000-04:002007-04-03T05:45:00.000-04:00Hm.... brain on a pedestal.
